Terroir
From the village, nestled on top of the hills of the vineyard, your eyes embrace all the plain of Alsace, from Switzerland to the South with sometimes, the majestic silhouette of the Alps, until Strasbourg in the North, your eyes walk happily on an extent huge vineyards. The estate is clustered around Voegtlinshoffen and the surrounding villages are 2 to 3 km away. It is a magical terroir that you will surely experiment during a future trip. Entirely on slopes, of medium slope, the vines plunge their roots into clay-limestone soils. These pure viticultural soils are locally more or less laden with marl, sandstone gravel or silt in the lower slopes. In this setting, facing south to south-east, is the Grand Cru terroir HATSCHBOURG, a noble prince offering us the best wines in Riesling, Muscat, Pinot Gris and Gewurztraminer. The oldest vines make it possible, thanks to their deep roots, to obtain complex, rich and long-lived wines, which is also a characteristic of our clay-limestone soils. It is better to wait for them from 2 to 5 years to enjoy their full expressivity.
