CEPAGES CREMANTS

The transmission of knowledge, the know-how of the winemaker, his flair too, have beautifully implanted the grape varieties on their preferred terroir. The fresh and sweet notes of Riesling and Muscat Ruhlmann are blooming on sandy, granitic, slightly damp soils. The finesse, the floral nose of Pinot Blanc and Sylvaner are best revealed on the alluvial lands with runoff. Pinot Noir, Gewurztraminer and Pinot Gris delight in the clay-limestone lands, where they take root deeply. Fruity, freshness and red fruit taste characterize our Pinot Noir. Our Gewurztraminer, often from old vines, are full-bodied, fat, harmonious and develop powerful exotic aromas.

TERROIRS SUFFERING

Dominating Dambach-la-Ville, the Frankstein produces on some rare hectares, some beautiful “GRANDS CRUS”. The domain RUHLMANN take the lion’s share with its set of plots of “the amphitheater”. Riesling, Gewurztraminer and Pinot Gris find a favorite place to sublimate their personality. VENDANGES TARDIVES and SELECTIONS DE GRANDS NOBLES are honored at RUHLMANN, especially with remarkable Riesling, Gewurztrarniner and Pinot Gris.

A SHARED PASSION

Christine and Jean-Victor SCHUTZ, Laurence and André RUHLMANN, have admirably managed to build on the legacy of Jean-Charles RUHLMANN. Marthe, the grandmother, can justifiably be proud to count the company among the leading Alsatian wine houses. In addition, with 4 small children, the succession is assured. The domain has grown up to almost 35 hectares of vines, including a large part of “grands crus” and place-called. New markets were conquered and the renown of RUHLMANN wines continued to broaden. Shared passion, entrepreneurial taste and complementarity are undoubtedly the seeds of this success.
